As human beings, we are curious creatures. How many times during the season if a player or team is playing exceptionally well will the media attempt to find a place on the list of “The Best Evers?” Whether you’re Adrian Peterson making opposing defenses look the fool as a freshman or a national championship team laden with talent and an eye on topping the 1995 Cornhuskers as the best of the best (and good luck with that, by the way), millions wonder “What if?” and that’s what we at Husker Hype have come to…well, not answer, but theorize.

Using the very addicting technology over at WhatIfSports, we thought it might be fun to have a look at what might happen if last year’s 2009 team took on some teams from not only last year again *cough* Texas *cough*, but teams from other years. We also took the liberty of compiling an All-Cornhuskers Team to take on other “dream teams.” The only catch is: The teams have to be from 1996-2009. You’re not going to find 1995 Tommie Frazier or 1994 Cory Schlesinger on these rosters, so a few lumps may be had, but that’s part of the fun.
Finally, we plan to have a tournament to determine the best Cornhusker squad of that era. All teams will be seeded and pitted against each other until a Husker Hype National Champion and MVP are crowned. You’ll get to see all stats, score boxes, etc. as these fantasy footballers take to the statistic gridiron. If you have a team in particular that you would like to see the 1996-2009 Cornhuskers face, send your request on in at BlankHuskerHype@gmail.com.
In the mean time, the games will be accessible via a new button to be added to the top of the site in the coming day or two, but for now here is your All-Cornhusker Team. They may not give out statistics for sheer heart and determination, but we still think this is a pretty formidable squad.
